BLAKE NZ-VR visit

Important information about the BLAKE NZ-VR visit
- Sessions are 1 hour long; we can generally run 4 sessions per day.
- Our class size limit is 30.
- We will need to be set up in one location for the duration of our visit.
- In T3/T4 2023, we will be offering a choice of two session topics, either:
- ‘Threats to the Moana’ which covers habitats, marine reserves, food webs, the effects of overfishing, the effects of pollution, and kaitiakitanga/guardianship of our environment; or
- ‘Marine mammals’ which covers culture and society of marine mammal species found in Aotearoa/New Zealand, threats to marine mammals, and kaitiakitanga/guardianship of our environment.
Please consider which of these session topics you would like your students to see, and we will confirm this with you in our next email prior to our visit. If your students have seen our NZ-VR programme in 2022, then we recommend you select the topic that your students have not seen yet. It is our preference for one topic to be selected for the duration of our visit.
- Our visit is best tied into a wider environmental education unit, supported by our resources. We are happy to discuss this with your teachers in advance where possible and help you integrate the lesson into your unit.
