Okains Bay School Big Day Out
Antarctic Centre trip

Dear Parents/ Whanau,
On Wednesday 7 August, we are having our “BIG DAY OUT” and heading to Christchurch for a fun day. We will depart at 8:00 and should arrive back in Okains Bay around 4:00. All akonga need to be at school by 8:00 for a quick getaway.
We will be traveling to the Antarctic Centre, we will have morning tea/lunch there, and then head back home.
Please complete the permission form below and return it to kura by Friday 2 August 2024.
There is no cost for this trip. We will be using the Heartlands Van so no parent transport is required.
A tentative timeline is as follows: (This may change)
08:00 Depart school
10:00 Arrive at the Antarctic Centre -(morning tea)
12:15 Lunch at the Antarctic Centre
14:00 Depart for home
15:30 (approx) Arrive back at Okains Bay
Children can wear “mufti” on this day and need to bring the following:
* Morning tea and a few snacks (Di’s lunches will be provided for you)
* A named water bottle
